As an Assessment Leader / Test/Assessment Analyst you will own the end-to-end delivery of assessments for your portfolio of qualifications. Reporting to the Head of Subject and working as part of a wider team that includes product management, marketing and sales, you will play a key role in delivering a professional and customer focused service. KEY ACCOUNTABLITIES You will be at the helm of a subject area to certify that question papers are engaging, inclusive and relevant; ensuring marking happens accurately and on time; and setting grade boundaries. Depending on where you are in the annual assessment cycle, every day will be different. However, you will also be working on long term projects centered on improving your portfolio and ensuring you meet your customer’s needs. Other typical activities will include: Ensuring the quality of all assessment materials by fully engaging with the continuous cycle of improvement. Analysing and interpreting assessment data to ensure comparability and consistency in our question papers. Overseeing question paper/assessment material production and sign-off to a deadline for a qualification or set of qualifications. Focus on providing the best in-class customer experience, support, engagement, insight and retention of customers. Providing (as appropriate) customer-friendly support to help customers understand the assessment processes. Supporting on an array of assessment initiatives across the department such as digital assessments, the mock service etc. Quality monitoring examiners and their marking of examinations. Ensuring timely escalations to the Head of Subject on adherence to schedules or on regulatory matters. Adhering to regulatory and internal procedures and obligations at all stages and that all documentation is to the highest standard, meets the assessment criteria for given assessments and ensures our assessments meet the needs of learners. Identifying efficiencies and quality enhancements in processes. Working collaboratively within own subject team as well as across the wider Assessment team or a range of assessment initiatives. Motivating, leading and managing a team of senior examiners. Manage your own training and seek advice and support from their Head of Subject. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Assessment Leader / Test/Assessment Analyst Assessment Leader / Test/Assessment Analyst may have a range of experience in assessment roles such as a teacher in a School or College, or some other role within the education sector. Ideally you will have had previous experience in a customer facing role and will have a subject specialism and/or experience of assessment materials and processes within a regulated framework. However, a background in education is not essential. Anyone with a keen interest in the sector with the appropriate skills, experience and willingness to learn will be considered. As a highly motivated individual you’ll have the aptitude to prioritise and manage your own workload effectively ensuring crucial tasks are managed effectively within tight, immovable deadlines. Experience of project management and/or delivery would be an advantage. Where conflicts arise, you will have the ability to problem solve successfully reacting positively to change and will be an effective communicator, with the skill to influence others whilst working collaboratively with key stakeholders. Other challenges include: Maintaining attention to detail even with repetitive tasks. Adapting to the challenges of each qualification. Adapting to different IT systems. Supporting Assessment Associates in their use of new technologies. Influencing and working closely with Assessment Associates and internal stakeholders. Simultaneously managing tasks for multiple examination series. Contract: Permanent. Full Time, 37.5 hours per week Role location: This is a hybrid role and will allow home working as well as from our office in Manchester at least 2 days per week. Occasional travel to our London office may be required.
