Band 5 Staff Nurse - CAMHS Eating Disorders Intensive Service

Main duties of the job
* To work within a nursing team caring for young people with eating disorders.
* Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* To establish the role within the multi-disciplinary team.
* To assist with efficient and effective nursing care.
* Leading the nursing team throughout a shift, supporting the decision making and showing accountability for junior members of the team.
* Advocating for young people you are nursing and their families.
* To ensure safe evidence-based clinical practice and demonstrate clinical expertise, and have delegated responsibility for the delivery of high quality patient care in a rich variety of arenas: outpatient and day patient treatment; facilitation/support for paediatric inpatient treatment for medical stabilisation and psychiatric emergencies; outreach and in-reach treatment.
* To work in collaboration with the Sister/Charge Nurse and other Senior Nurses and the multi-disciplinary team to promote the unique philosophy of the Intensive Service.
* To work closely with the Sister/Charge Nurse and other nursing and medical leads to ensure the smooth running of the Intensive Service.
* To maintain a safe clinical environment conducive to patient care.
* To ensure the supervision and development of all nurses, students, and support workers for whom they are responsible.
* To adhere to the Trust's Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults Protection policies.

Qualifications
* RSCN or RMN or RN (Child/Mental Health).
* ENB 998 or equivalent.
* ENB 603.
Experience
* Current experience in a paediatric or mental health setting working with young people.
* Demonstrate evidence of linking theory to practice.
* Experience of working with patients with eating disorders.
Skills & Knowledge
* Demonstrate communication skills.
* Demonstrate commitment to educating junior staff.
* Demonstrate evidence of professional development.
* Knowledge of mental health difficulties in young people.
Other Requirements
* Evidence of commitment to child and family centred care.
* Evidence of ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Demonstrate ability to prioritise.
* Demonstrate interest in the specialty of child and adolescent eating disorders.
* Awareness of Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults policies and procedures.
* Basic computer skills.

£35,964 to £43,780 a year per annum inclusive of HCAS.
