Your Engineering experience working in the Navy or working as an engineer within the defence industry will make a real impact.\n \nYou will be working on a vital Royal Navy Equipment support programme.\n \nThis role will be working with the Master Record Data Centre MRDC Team who are responsible for the managing and maintaining the Surface Ship Definition Database (SSDD). The SSDD contains millions of records relating to RN and RFA Ships. The service ensures the capture of all necessary data and that SSDD is kept relevant and easily accessible. \nThere can be significant impact on-board if SSDD data is not kept current as its information is required to coordinate all maintenance, repairs and upgrades to the Fleet effectively. It is therefore vital that the MRDC is provided with timely and accurate source material, e.g A&A Installation Solutions, End of Support Period Reports, Drawings and Parts lists in order to maintain up to date information on changes to Ships Fit.\nYou will be playing a key role in the delivery of submarine projects for the Royal Navy.\n \nOur client are a growing Support Services Consultancy that provide Engineering services to the defence industry.\n \nBelow are some further details on the role.\n\nAbout the job:\n\nThey currently require the services of a Configuration Engineer. This role will include:\n\nUndertaking configuration accounting tasks which involve the extraction of configuration data from approved source documentation to ensure the SSDD is maintained with the right data at the right time\nYou will interpret technical data from drawings, specifications and other technical publications, comparing to data held in the SSDD and updating the SSDD as required\nUndertake Ship visits to support configuration audits as required\nEnsure when updating SSDD that cognizance is taken of potential impact on all SSDD data interfaces identified in Outputs and interfaces schedule.\nPrepare process documentation and stakeholder engagement reports where required within your area of responsibility. \n\nTo be suitable for this role you will: \n\nYou will ideally hold a HNC / Certificate in an Engineering related discipline or have equivalent practical experience in a similar role within another organisation, e.g. Industry, HM Forces, etc.\nHave Engineering experience with a knowledge of support activities within the MoD Maritime environment being an advantage.\nAble to interpret technical data from drawings and other documentation.\nStrong communicator both with internal and external stakeholders. \n \nRole: Configuration Engineer\nPortsmouth, Hampshire Hybrid working will be offered (You will be required to work on site in Portsmouth 3 days a week)\nSalary: 43K plus exceptional benefits\n\nElectus Recruitment Solutions provides specialist engineering and technical recruitment solutions to a number of high technology industries.
