Assistant General Manager - Birchwood Park Golf Club - Wilmington, Dartford LOCATION: BIRCHWOOD PARK GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB, BIRCHWOOD ROAD, WILMINGTON, KENT DA2 7HJ SALARY: Up to £55,000 p/a Who are we? Birchwood Park opened in 1992 and was taken on by Burhill Golf and Leisure 5 years later. In 2017 Birchwood Park underwent a £5million development of the Health and Fitness facilities which has set the club as one the leading family centric golf, leisure and function destination in Kent. Birchwood Park has become the busiest site within the BGL group and our team of over 125 welcome large volumes of golfers, health club users and casual diners every day. We remain a key local venue for functions and events, especially around Christmas. What will you do? Your role will be to assist the General Manager in driving the club to further success. You will draw on your own expertise and experience to help lead and support a team of 9 Head of Departments focussed on our people, service, standards and sustainability to ensure the desired financial performance is achieved. The role also involves helping shape the future of the club, identifying opportunities, exploring market trends and working with the General Manager to refine its proposition. Experience you MUST have? Proven record in a commercial leisure/hospitality environment where success was measured through operational standards, customer satisfaction and sustained growth in profitability – Essential. A proven record of successfully managing site operations and people – Essential. Experience in managing a large team spread across different departments – Essential. Experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager – Desirable. A sports and club membership understanding – Desirable. Educated to degree level or equivalent – Desirable. What you get?
