Company A well-established building surveying consultancy that specialise in retail developments, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality services to said clients, are seeking a skilled and motivated Architectural Technician to join their team Responsibilities Retail Development Support: Collaborate with our team of surveyors, architects, and engineers to provide technical support for retail development projects in Glasgow and the surrounding areas. Technical Drawings: Create and update detailed architectural drawings, plans, and specifications for retail projects, ensuring they adhere to industry standards and local building codes. Site Surveys: Conduct on-site surveys to assess the condition of existing structures and to gather necessary data for renovation and construction projects. Design Development: Assist in the development of retail store designs, layouts, and floor plans, considering spatial efficiency and customer experience. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all architectural work complies with relevant local regulations and building codes, obtaining permits and approvals as needed. Material and Product Selection: Research and recommend suitable materials, finishes, and architectural elements for retail projects based on cost-effectiveness and quality. Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, reports, and project records. Budget Management: Assist in cost estimation and budget management for architectural aspects of retail development projects. Client Liaison: Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, providing technical advice and updates on project progress. Quality Assurance: Ensure that architectural components meet high-quality standards and are delivered on time and within budget. Requirements A degree or diploma in Architectural Technology or a related field. Proven experience as an Architectural Technician, preferably in retail development projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant design software. Knowledge of building regulations and codes in Glasgow and Scotland. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings and specifications. Ability to conduct on-site surveys and assessments. Familiarity with retail design trends and best practices. Problem-solving and analytical skills.
