Job Title : Mechanical Estimator Location : Essex Salary : £42,000 - £60,000 per annum We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Building Services HVAC company, which is expanding its team due to an increase in project inquiries. The company is involved in a range of mechanical projects, with values ranging from £30k to £5 million. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Estimator to join a growing business and take ownership of estimating across various projects in the HVAC sector. About the Role : As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and competitive estimates for a variety of mechanical and HVAC projects. Working closely with project managers and engineers, you will ensure all aspects of the project are considered, from labour and materials to equipment and overheads. You will be key in driving successful tenders, contributing to the company's growth and project success. Key Responsibilities : Review project plans, specifications, and scope of work to prepare detailed cost estimates. Analyse labour, materials, equipment, and overhead costs, ensuring all elements are included. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for accurate project planning. Stay up to date with market trends, conducting research on material costs and industry standards. Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing. Monitor project budgets and assist in cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare and present bid documents to clients during the tendering process. Ensure all estimating activities comply with company policies and industry regulations. Ideal Candidate : Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator, particularly in the HVAC and Building Services sector. Strong understanding of cost control principles and estimating practices. Proficiency in estimating software and tools. Excellent analytical and detail-oriented skills. Strong communication skills for collaboration with team members, suppliers, and clients. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
