An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to work within our MHTR Team, embedded within the current existing Liaison and Diversion service. Main duties of the job
The mental health treatment requirement team will provide psychological assessments and interventions to people coming into contact with the criminal justice system.
The team with support of criminal justice partners and colleagues aims to divert people away from the criminal justice system as well as short custodial sentences and reduce reoffending via improving access to psychological interventions by addressing underlying unmet needs.

Job responsibilities
This description is not exhaustive however, the successful candidate will
7. Be responsible for supporting the Principal Psychologist and clinical lead/s in the development and evaluation of the new MHTR service delivery models
8. Undertake psychological assessments and interventions of service users, whilst working autonomously but also
9. undertake formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological intervention of a service user's needs
10. Communicate and liaise with other disciplines involved in the service user's care alongside criminal justice colleagues and partners
11. Attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings.
12. Provide advice, guidance and support to service users to enhance awareness of their psychological needs.
13. Support and contribute to the audit process's within the service delivery model.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
14. Good Honours undergraduate degree in Psychology
15. Experience of working with adults or older adults with MH difficulties
16. Postgraduate / additional qualification in psychology-related discipline or subject
Knowledge
Essential
17. Well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, relating to complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS
18. Appropriate understanding of confidentiality in a mental health context
19. Participate and undertake audit evaluation and research. Completed clinical audits within a service
20. Ability to function in a largely autonomous fashion, subject to suitable supervision

21. Relevant experience in psychological difficulties such as anxiety and depression.
22. Experience of working with people within mental health services
23. Experience of working and liaising with other professional groups
24. Experience of working as a member of a multidisciplinary team or within a team environment
