Job Description
The salary for this role is £54,376 (inclusive of a Specialist Allowance-£6,000). Onsite working is expected for 3 days each week, however, we actively support requests for Flexible Working.
This role is to be based at the following site; Culham, Oxfordshire.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and possibly a search of open source data.
The Role
Join our team as a RACE Electrical Project Engineer! In this role, you'll work closely with project managers and Electrical System Engineers to ensure the high-quality, on-time, and within-budget delivery of electrical work packages. You'll also contribute to project design activities, including creating design specifications,and overseeing electrical projects through the whole design lifecycle within the Electrical Systems group.
If you have the ability to coach less experienced staff, and experience working in cross-functional teams, we'd love to hear from you! Additionally, experience in a safety-dominated working environment and working in technical engineering groups will be highly beneficial to your success in this role. Key Accountabilities:
* Oversee production of electrical manufacturing documentation for complex remote handling systems within the RACE department.
* Develop and implement systems for managing design requirements, interfaces, and performance/compliance processes across design teams.
* Ensure detail designs are validated, meet manufacturing standards, and adhere to design specifications, working with relevant teams and suppliers.
* Manage subcontractors, review electrical design and documentation quality, and oversee the testing and commissioning of systems, ensuring compliance with safety requirements.
* Support electrical engineers to meet project timelines as needed
Qualifications
Essential:
* Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership.
* Engineering or technology degree, or equivalent experience.
* Electrical engineering design experience and the ability to assess design work.
* Proven ability to efficiently interact with people in diverse situations while successfully delivering electrical engineering projects.
* Ability to produce high quality work to deadlines.
* Flexible working attitude with the ability to work as an individual or as a team member.
* Thorough understanding of governance, Health and Safety and compliance issues.
Desirable:
* Experience in people management
