Tel 0161 921 1300 Head of Centre: Julie Owen Executive Head: Debbie Ramsay The Clifton Centre is a Key Stage 4 Pupil Referral Unit working with students who are excluded from mainstream schools or who are at risk of such. The students attend with us for varying periods of time ranging from a number of weeks to at least a full Key Stage. Most KS4 pupils are entered for a range of GCSEs, including English and Maths. We are seeking to appoint a Family Liaison and Safeguarding Lead to support pupils and families who need particular help to overcome barriers to attendance, learning and engagement. The role includes a responsibility to support students who access Alternative Provisions, mainstream/special school and the Clifton Centre hubs. The successful candidates will: Have a passion for supporting some of our most vulnerable students and supporting them to overcome their barriers to attending school and engaging with academic work and pastoral work Have excellent communication skills Use a child-centred approach considering any external or internal pastoral or academic needs Be able to work with families and outside agencies to reach solutions, this may require working away from the School use of car is essential Be proactive in following safeguarding and recording procedures Be resilient when working with disengaged students Be able to work within a team or independently Be able to adapt to changes in students personal circumstances The centre is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
