The Role As a Full Stack Software Engineer with a front-end focus, you'll play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our web-based applications. You'll work on both front-end and back-end components, with a primary emphasis on creating intuitive, responsive, and high-performance user interfaces. Your work will directly impact our ability to provide powerful, user-friendly tools for industrial decarbonisation. Key Responsibilities Design and implement responsive, modular single-page applications Develop and maintain both front-end and back-end components of our web platform Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate designs into functional, efficient code Contribute to the architectural decisions for both front-end and back-end systems Work within a CI/CD environment to ensure smooth deployment and integration Optimize application performance and ensure cross-browser compatibility Participate in code reviews and contribute to our continuous improvement process Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in web development Required Qualifications 3 years of experience in an industry-standard programming language Full stack capabilities - willing to work on both front-end and back-end Strong proficiency in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) Experience with modern front-end frameworks Familiarity with functional programming concepts Experience with cloud services and database technologies (e.g., Postgres and AWS) Proficiency in working with CI/CD pipelines Strong knowledge of source control technologies (e.g., Git workflow) Knowledge of or willingness to learn TypeScript and React Understanding of microservice architecture Experience implementing responsive, modular single-page applications Strong design sensibility and ability to work effectively with designers Preferred Qualifications Experience with React Proficiency in modern front-end frameworks (e.g., Material UI or similar) Experience with TypeScript Knowledge of back-end technologies and GraphQL API design Familiarity with agile development methodologies Contributions to open-source projects What We Offer Opportunity to make a significant impact on global decarbonization efforts Join a collaborative and innovative work environment at a Sustainability Leadership Institute in Cambridge.
