IT Business Analyst - 6 month initial contract (potential for further extension) - £675 per day (Inside IR35) - London (2 days per week onsite)
As a Senior Business Analyst on this IT Integration Project, you will play a critical role in analysing the current state (as-is) of the global client's multiple entities and portfolio companies IT infrastructure, systems, processes, and workflows. Your primary responsibility will be to assess how these elements align with the desired future state (to-be) of the integrated organisation and drawing out detailed business requirements for the "to be" state.
Beyond just integration requirements, this role will be crucial to understanding requirements for an end-to-end platform. You will work closely with stakeholders from both companies to gather requirements, identify gaps, and develop strategies for a smooth integration process.
Key responsibilities:
* Identify and define the business needs for stakeholders and help to determine solutions to meet business needs or resolve business problems.
* Aid IT software development work on the project, enhancement requests, or defect fix requests that may include Estimating, Business Analysis, Impact Analysis, System Requirements Definition, Solution Design, Technical Specification & Acceptance Criteria, and Technical Test Plan design and execution. You will support the transition of the implementation into the company's Standard Service and Operation Model.
* As a Subject Matter Expert, understand the requirement of a functional specification or user stories, ensure its completeness for next steps and resolve defects during test cycles and hyper care including incident/problem management.
* Provide business functional expertise and guide the business process and development of the IT solution to support a key strategic product.
* Link technical solutions with business strategy when working with business partners.
* Lead stakeholder management activities and create opportunities to make the stakeholder feel valued and develop trust.
* Utilize broad and extensive knowledge in your specialized field to provide interpretive, advisory, or facilitating services for the use of others to achieve results.
* Participate in team efforts to create new best practice material based on identified gaps and serve as an SME for specific tools, techniques, or business areas.
* Engage in industry IT BA related activities such as IIBA webcasts and/or chapter meetings and apply learnings including sharing of learnings across the company.
Key skills and experience:
* Knowledge and skill of Business Analysis techniques and tools.
* CCBA or PMI-PBA certified preferred; working towards CBAP if preference to remain on IT BA career path.
* Agile project experience.
* Knowledge of the technology landscape including current and future developments and the most commonly available products and integrated solutions, or a demonstrated ability to learn it.
* Ability to take a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving and pay close attention to detail.
* Able to act as a focal point for a specialized area (technical or business) within Power Trading.
* Demonstrate a concern and aptitude for considering the user's perspective in IT development and have a deep understanding of user aspects of interactive systems.
* Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Ability to communicate concisely and clearly.
* Comprehensive understanding of business process improvement, benefit and risk management.
* Strong Commodities Trading (preferably Power) domain knowledge and experience.
* Energy Trade and Risk Management (ETRM) knowledge and experience.
