Role: Safety Health and Environment Manager
Salary: GBP 60,000 per annum - GBP 65,000 per annum + car allowance + bonus + competitive pension
Location: Burton on Trent
Exclusively representing a leading food and beverage manufacturing company to source a SHE Manager to empower the site to continue to take ownership. To coach and mentor a team of 4 Safety, Health and Environment professionals.
Seeking a hands-on and people-centric professional to provide Safety, Health and Environmental Support to guide the site, as well as coaching and supporting the safety team on site. This position is perfect for a SHE Manager who wants to work in a fast-paced, complex manufacturing site, who likes to get stuck into large projects and have exposure to a global company that genuinely sees SHE as a priority.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Guide the workforce on site through the next phase of SHE, offering Safety, Health and Environmental support and advice and empowering line managers.
2. Mentor and coach the 4 direct reports and help them succeed.
3. Gain buy-in and inspire stakeholders to excel in compliance and continuously improve.
4. Engage with external stakeholders (trades unions, local regulators, local communities, and local NGOs) on SHE topics to build long-term, positive relationships.
5. Identify current and future challenges, and opportunities for change at site level.
6. Maintain the Environmental and H and S Management System.
7. Develop and continuously improve site SHE programmes; the factory is moving forward with exciting projects including continuous improvement principles and actively developing Lean/TPM processes.
8. Provide personal coaching and support to the site Management Team.
9. Ensure compliance is regularly audited and performance assessed, and the results used to drive further improvement.
Essential Qualifications, Skills And Experience:
1. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
2. Prior SHE Management experience.
3. Hands-on in their approach to HSE.
4. Fast-paced general manufacturing experience, ideally from a Food or Beverage company.
