Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young parents and individuals? We are recruiting for a Housing Support Worker to join a dedicated team, providing crucial housing and support services for individuals aged 16-24 in Newbury.
THE ROLE:
As a Housing Support Worker, your primary responsibility will be to serve as a keyworker, empowering young people to build independence and self-sufficiency while ensuring safety and well-being.
1. Assess client referrals and engage using a person-centred approach.
2. Conduct health and safety inspections and promptly report maintenance issues.
3. Provide ongoing support by regularly reviewing Independent Living Plans and Risk Assessments.
4. Liaise with partner agencies and stakeholders to ensure wraparound support.
5. Manage tenancy arrangements and ensure clients are aware of their rights and responsibilities.
6. Coordinate safeguarding actions and attend relevant meetings.
7. Deliver person-centred support to young people with diverse challenges, such as mental health or substance misuse.
THE CANDIDATE:
We are seeking candidates who have experience in similar support or customer-facing roles, with transferable skills to work with young people.
8. Experience working with individuals aged 16-24 or young parents.
9. Ability to make decisions and take initiative.
10. Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and supported living environments.
11. Understanding of safeguarding and risk management processes.
12. Strong communication, administration, and IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
THE CONTRACT:
13. 21 hours per week
14. 12 weeks temp to perm
15. Early (7:30-15:30) and Late (12:30-20:30) shifts
16. Out-of-hours on-call rota (1 week every 4 weeks, additional payment)
17. £16.50 to £19.97 per hour LTD / £14.07 to £17.02 per hour PAYE, inclusive of holiday
