About The Role
The learning and development service have an exciting opportunity for an residential learning and development practitioner to drive improvements in creating and influencing a culture of continuous learning by designing and delivering training that is based on the needs of our children.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive improvements in service delivery to meet the needs of our children in care in line with the vision of the Trust. You will be responsible for delivering training, coaching and support residential childcare staff, equipping them with the essential knowledge and skills needed to provide a nurturing and therapeutic environment for our children.
* To be accountable for the quality of practice, setting standards and creating the conditions required for learning by motivating, nurturing, mentoring staff and contributing to practice development, including undertaking activity that links to the Childrens Services performance framework.
* Monitor and review the feedback and effectiveness of the training with the manager to ensure that the training needs of the service are met.
About You
* Experience of supporting the learning and development of other practitioners to improve practice and have a positive impact on outcomes of service users including the development of students, newly qualified social workers and other practitioners.
* Professional social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
* Experience and understanding of residential services that look after children.
* Experience of development, design and delivery of blended learning solutions that address identified need.
* Comprehensive knowledge of social work practice and legislation, including safeguarding and subject knowledge that reflects best practice.
* Experience of building effective relationships and communicating with partners.
* Advanced IT skills – Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel are required as well as excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
