ADVERT: OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST LEARNING DISABILITIES
BAND 5 22.5 HOURS
BASE: Whitnash Lodge, Heathcote Lane, Warwick
Due to some reorganisation and in response to our service need, we are delighted to be able to advertise an Occupational Therapy post in The Community Learning Disability Team. This post would be suitable for a qualified therapist who has had experience with people with Learning Disabilities.
This would be part of a Multi-disciplinary team comprising Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Community Learning Disability Nurses, Physiotherapists, and Speech and Language Therapists.
Responsibilities:
1. To provide Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment programmes to clients with learning disabilities complex needs within South Warwickshire Community Learning Disability Team. Occasional working across teams may be required.
2. To be an autonomous practitioner, holding a clinical caseload and working without direct supervision.
3. To support other therapy staff, students, and colleagues in delivering Occupational Therapy services.
4. To provide advice, guidance, and information to health and social care professionals, clients, carers, relatives, or other non-professional contacts.
Requirements: The successful candidate must have compassion and enthusiasm for working with this client group. They would need to show initiative and flexibility and be able to work in a person-centred way. They must also be able to follow direction and work within their scope of practice. Due to the large geographical and sometimes rural area within South Warwickshire, the successful candidate must have their own transport that they can use for work.
