Purpose of the Role
At Gurls Talk, we believe young people should be at the center of the mental health conversation. We are looking for a Program Facilitator to support the launch and implementation of our Ambassador Program in London. The Program Facilitator will help create a safe, supportive, and engaging space for Ambassadors as they navigate mental health advocacy, peer support, and leadership development.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
* Prepare and Facilitate Monthly Sessions: Lead engaging, interactive workshops (both in-person and virtual), ensuring sessions are inclusive, trauma-informed, and empowering.
* Support Peer Mentorship: Help match Ambassadors with mentors, coordinate meetings, and provide ongoing guidance.
* Create a Safe Space for Peer Support: Cultivate an environment where Ambassadors feel comfortable sharing their lived experiences and supporting one another.
* Guide Action Projects: Assist Ambassadors in developing advocacy projects focused on mental health awareness and destigmatization.
* Convening Coordination: Support the planning and execution of an in-person convening, ensuring a meaningful and impactful experience for all participants.
* Ongoing Communication & Engagement: Keep Ambassadors engaged between sessions by sharing resources, responding to inquiries, and maintaining regular check-ins.
* Collaboration with Leadership: Work closely with the Gurls Talk team to ensure program goals are met and Ambassadors’ feedback is integrated.
* Maintain Program Integrity & Safety: Uphold Gurls Talk’s safeguarding procedures and ensure a trauma-informed approach in all interactions.
What We’re Looking For
* Undergraduate degree required; diploma or Masters Degree in therapeutic counseling preferred.
* Experience in mental health programming, advocacy, psychoeducation and/or clinical services.
* Strong facilitation skills with experience leading group discussions, workshops, or peer support spaces.
* Experience working with young people (ages 18-24), particularly in community-building, education, or mentorship roles.
* Ability to create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging space for open conversations about mental health.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and email correspondence.
* Strong organizational skills to manage program logistics, track progress, and ensure follow-ups.
* Awareness of and sensitivity to mental health challenges, trauma-informed care, and intersectionality.
* Confidence in using digital tools (Zoom, email, shared documents) to coordinate and facilitate sessions.
* Familiarity with the mental health landscape in the UK, including local resources and advocacy networks a plus.
