On behalf of our client we are recruiting for Security Officers to work at Belfast International Airport (Crumlin). This role will involve screening and searching of staff and passenger's and their baggage. It is essential you have good communication skills, have the ability to deal with variety and difficult situations as well as being able to work as part of a team. You will be required to work 4 day on & 2 days off (flexibility can be offered) £11.44 (training) £12.00 after training & increasing to £12.60ph when trained on as an xray operator JOB DUTIES: People Search Use of equipment and manual search techniques, in order to ensure that no prohibited articles are taken into the airport Xray screening and bag searching - Use of equipment and manual search techniques, in order to ensure that no prohibited articles are taken into the airport Access Control - Controlling of access to the aerodrome, checking identification or travel documents for all passengers, staff and airport users requiring access. Resolve queries from customers and assist them with their journey through the airport offering advice where necessary & high levels of customer service. Read and adhere to security notices, completing documentation clearly and concisely on any incidents that may have occurred. Responding to and assisting with emergency situations such as aircraft emergencies, Patrolling: Carry out patrols of the air-side / land-side areas to ensure that these locations are secure Attending to and investigating reports of incidents. Aircraft guarding and escort duties within site Assisting with general enquires. Health and Safety Responsibilities: Ensure work is carried out in accordance with site/department procedures and training provided. Comply with the WJ Health and Safety Policy, procedures and protocols at all times Ensure you have received the required training prior to commencing works Ensure that you are working in accordance with the safe system of works, as briefed by your Line Manager Ensure that you are fit for work prior to reporting for duty each day Report any health and safety concerns to your line manager Once Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) has been issued ensure that you keep it serviceable at all times and report any defects to your line manager Always ensure while at work you are wearing the correct PPE If you are operating machinery/plant/vehicles you must operate safely in accordance with the instruction and training provided Set a good example at all times Essential: Ability to listen actively to others.
