Job summary/Purpose
Provide and monitor land market activity on a continuing basis and identify opportunities.
To assist with land purchase valuation exercises and negotiate contracts.
To build and develop strong relationships at all levels with key individuals and groups of interested parties in the land acquisition and planning process e.g. landowners, agents, consultants, local authority officers, local communities, ward members, local objectors etc.
Understand, input into, and respect the principles and strategic objectives of the Business Strategy
Liaise successfully with all other teams within the Business Unit to manage schemes from initial identification to acquisition and beyond.
Primary Responsibilities
The identification of development land through a variety of pro-active and reactive methods.
Build and maintain relationships with key local contacts to ensure up-to-date knowledge on current and future market opportunities.
Assisting the Land Manager in the preparation of land appraisals and land purchase exercises.
Issuing of key information and instructions to relevant internal departments.
Assist in the preparation and co-ordination of sales and marketing reports, planning reports, engineering reports and layout drawings.
Reviewing planning policy and constraints on potential development sites.
Assisting the Planning Manager in the preparation of planning applications.
Preparation of briefs for and appointment of consultant team.
Attending public consultation events and planning meetings.
Attend relevant meetings as required under company procedures.
Undertake any other duties as required by the Land & Planning Director.
Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements
Degree qualification in a relevant subject or where transferable skills can be demonstrated
Previous experience with industry
Desire to gain RICS accreditation
Full driving license
