Your New Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Bid Writer to join our Work Winning team supporting our Complex Facilities Business Unit. This is a remote role that will require travel, usually to Birmingham or London.
The purpose of the Senior Bid Writer is to develop high-quality, client-focused and compliant bid submissions and content as an experienced and integral part of the bid team.
The Senior Bid Writer will work with Bid Managers, the Bid Writing Manager / Proposal Manager, section leads and subject matter experts to produce winning SQ/PQQ and bid submissions that are accurate, consistent and aligned to the client's requirements.
They will act as lead writer on key opportunities and provide bid writing and editorial support and structural guidance to bid teams, accessing knowledge resources and previous bids to help maximise efficiency of the bid process.
The Senior Bid Writer will provide support, guidance, coaching and mentoring to less experienced members of the writing team. This will result in persuasive written proposals which clearly articulate our offering, win themes, added value, where we have done this before and benefits gained.
The standard hours of work are based on 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
You will be responsible for:
* Working with the Bid Director, Bid Manager and Proposals Manager to lead the written development of high-quality, consistent and persuasive bid responses which reflect Amey's tone of voice and win themes
* Acting as the lead writer on strategic SQs/PQQs and bids, including authoring higher-weighted responses
* Providing support, guidance, coaching and mentoring to other members of the bid writing team
* Leading 'bid writer forums' to help upskill more junior members of the team and share knowledge and best practice
* Drafting content from scratch and editing material produced by others to promote the principles of 'Plain English' - conveying complex information and technical solutions clearly and succinctly
* Analysing client requirements including compliance and evaluation criteria to help maximise scores across all responses
* Providing structural, written and editorial support to bid teams, interviewing and helping subject matter experts to produce compliant yet engaging technical content that hits the mark for the evaluator
* Monitoring the overall quality of written content as it progresses, ensuring best practice processes are followed to produce compelling, impactful and high scoring documents that maintain a consistent 'voice' throughout
* Carrying out final editing and proofreading of quality responses to maximise readability, consistency and accuracy
* Supporting the post-tender lessons learned process to help embed continuous improvement in bid writing
