Job Title : Care Assistant Reports to : Care Manager or Nursing Supervisor Location : Hampshire (some occasional travel to Isle of Wight) Working Conditions: Hours : up to 40hours per week Shift Patterns: Mon - Sun, Days / Nights, Long Days Location : Residential Care Homes in Hampshire Physical Demands : The role may involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Emotional Demands : Providing care for individuals with complex needs may be emotionally challenging. Key Responsibilities: Personal Care : Assist clients with daily personal hygiene (e.g., bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting). Help with mobility and positioning, including assistance with walking, transfers, and the use of mobility aids. Health and Well-being Support : Monitor clients' physical and mental health, reporting any changes to senior staff. Assist with feeding, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration, and help with meal preparation if necessary. Administer medications as prescribed, following safety protocols. Emotional Support : Provide companionship, engaging in conversations and activities to reduce loneliness. Offer emotional and psychological support, helping clients to feel valued and comfortable. Household Tasks : Assist with light housekeeping, such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment. Help with shopping, errands, and preparing meals, where needed. Record Keeping and Reporting : Maintain accurate records of clients' care routines, health status, and any incidents or changes. Report observations to healthcare professionals or family members as required. Support Social and Recreational Activities : Encourage participation in social activities, hobbies, and outings. Assist with setting up and facilitating activities that enhance quality of life. Key Skills and Qualifications: Empathy and Patience : Ability to care for people with sensitivity and compassion. Physical Stamina : Must be able to assist with physical tasks such as lifting or moving clients. Communication : Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Attention to Detail : Ability to notice and respond to health or emotional changes in clients. Organizational Skills : Capable of managing time and tasks effectively. Basic First Aid and Health Knowledge : Familiarity with emergency procedures and understanding of common medical conditions. Qualifications : Mandatory Training including, MH, Safeguarding, BLS, First Aid. Requirements: Must have at least 6 months UK experience in role Must already have training certificates Must have an enhanced DBS
