JOB - Mechanical Design Engineer\nLOCATION - Northampton\nTERM - Permanent\nSALARY - £35,000 to £45,000 per annum (plus benefits)\n\n Premier Engineering is collaborating with an industry-leading company based in Northampton. They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team and work on a range of innovative projects.\n\n The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:\n\nA minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, with a strong focus on sheet metal design.\nProficiency in 3D CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.\nExpertise in designing sheet metal components, including knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes.\nA degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering (BEng, MEng, HND, HNC, etc.).\nStrong understanding of materials, tolerances, and engineering principles.\nExperience creating detailed engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).\nFamiliarity with Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team.The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:\n\nDesigning and developing mechanical systems and sheet metal components for various engineering projects.\nUsing SolidWorks to create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings.\nGenerating accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing.\nCollaborating with production teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing and quality standards.\nConducting design reviews and implementing improvements based on feedback and testing results.\nEnsuring designs comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.\nManaging multiple projects simultaneously and delivering on time and within budget.\nIdentifying opportunities to enhance designs for performance and cost efficiency.If you meet the above requirements and are excited about joining a dynamic and innovative team, please apply with an up-to-date CV as soon as possible, along with your availability and salary expectations
