Job Description
THIS POST HAS AN ANNUAL PAY AWARD PENDING
Are you the kind of person who can bring comfort, calm and kindness into someone’s day even if it’s just for a few hours? We’re looking for Relief Care Workers to step in when needed, offering practical support and genuine care to the people who rely on our services.
Whether it’s helping someone get ready in the morning, encouraging them to take part in activities they enjoy, or simply being a reassuring presence, your role will be all about being there when it counts.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
* Supporting with personal and intimate care, always with dignity and respect
* Helping people use the aids and equipment they need to live well
* Assisting with meals, mobility, and everyday routines
* Encouraging mental and physical activity in line with care plans
* Creating a clean, homely and safe environment
* Supporting individuals in their spiritual life, including Christian worship if they wish
* Working alongside healthcare professionals when someone’s unwell or at end of life
* Keeping accurate records and responding to emergencies with calm and care
This is a role where every shift matters and where your presence can turn someone’s day around.
We’re looking for kind, dependable people who are comfortable with hands-on care, can follow clear guidance, and are respectful of our Christian ethos. An SVQ 3 is ideal, but if you’re willing to work towards it, we’ll help get you there.
If flexibility suits your lifestyle and you want to do work that truly makes a difference, we’d love to welcome you to the team.

We are part of the Church of Scotland and aim to provide social care services and specialist resources in Christ’s name to further the caring work of the Church to people in challenging circumstances.
As we do our work in Christ’s name you must be respectful of our Christian Ethos and be able to work within it.
This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
