The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and organisational skills, alongside a good sense of humour and team focus.
The Department has a good skill mix including advanced and specialist Podiatrists, Podiatry assistants and administrative staff. Currently, we maintain high-risk, biomechanics and nail surgery caseloads. As a specialist podiatrist, you will triage and treat a variety of podiatric problems and provide foot health education to patients and other stakeholders.
Opportunities to develop skills and knowledge in specialist areas are available through our close links with the multi-disciplinary diabetic foot team and North Cumbria MSK service.

Main duties of the job
1. Formulate and deliver individual treatment plans using assessment, reasoning and clinical decision-making based on your specialist knowledge and evidence-based practice and guidelines.
2. Evaluate patient progress, re-assess and alter treatment plans using evidence-based medicine/guidelines and recognize when additional support and advice is needed.
3. Be responsible for the escalation of patients presenting with complex conditions outside the scope of practice (expertise/knowledge and skills) to an advanced podiatrist/appropriately experienced podiatrist.
4. Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work, including the management of patients/service users in your care.
5. Undertake self-directed/lone working in a variety of locations, including patients' homes.
6. Plan and organize your clinical caseload efficiently and effectively.
7. Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records.
