This is an exciting opportunity to join a new SEND district team that will manage the Educational, Health, Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) and Education, Health Care Needs Plans for children and young people with complex SEND. This team is being formed to meet the increasing demand for support in Staffordshire. We are keen to ensure that the children, young people and their families experience a high quality and timely EHCNA process where their voice is at the centre of the assessment process. Developing this new team is part of our wider work to improve SEND services for children, young people, families and schools.
Our SEND teams have high support from a range of professionals including a designated legal team and SEND Principal Officers who can help and guide your work. You will also be part of a wider SEND team with 8 well established district teams that work across Staffordshire.
The new team will work across our county and will be technically based in Stafford. However, this role will provide you with the flexibility of working from home and is supported with excellent ICT equipment.

Package Description
We are looking for Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) Coordinators to join a new team being formed in Staffordshire. Our new team is being developed to respond to the unprecedented demand for EHCNA from our educational settings and families.
Main Responsibilities
In this role, you will coordinate the EHCNA process for a group of children and young people as well as ensure that where Education, Health Care Plans (EHCPs) are in place, these are accurately reviewed and amended, if required, in a timely manner.
You will develop strong and effective relationships with the families, schools and professionals that you are working with.
Above all, you will need to ensure that communication with all these stakeholders is effective and solution focussed.
Ultimately, you will coordinate and produce a timely, high quality, legally compliant EHCNA that is child and young person focussed.
We have high aspirations for all of our children and, your work in this role will be a key part of ensuring that children with complex SEND have the support they need to thrive.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for colleagues who have a good understanding of SEND law and SEND regulations.
Ideally, you will,
* have a strong background in SEND and experience of coordination of EHCNAs and managing and reviewing EHCPs
* be extremely organised and able to work to specific deadlines
* have excellent written skills as you will need these to ensure that the plans that you produce are high quality and place the child and their needs at the centre of your work
Above all, you will need to have strong communication skills and a commitment to working in a restorative, relational and solution focussed way with families, educational settings and professionals.
