The Role: IT Commercial Manager - 6 Month FTC (potential of ongoing)
As the IT Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for planning the procurement pipeline, leading on requirements gathering, business case development, market engagement, and contract award processes. You will collaborate with colleagues across various departments, including Corporate Procurement, Legal, and Finance, to ensure a seamless approach to procurement and supplier relationship management.
About You
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* A CIPS qualification or equivalent industry experience.
* Strong proficiency in understanding the products and services supplied by external vendors.
* Expertise in product evaluation and selection, with a focus on analytical comparison of IT solutions against specified criteria.
* Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills to manage complex stakeholder dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead end-to-end procurement activities across the organisation, providing innovative solutions to meet service requirements.
* Establish, maintain, and disseminate procurement and contract management standards, ensuring consistency throughout the organisation.
* Develop strategic relationships with key vendors, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed SLAs, milestones, and roadmaps.
* Maintain the contract register, monitor supplier performance, and plan timely contract renewals or new procurements.
* Review all IT contracts and analyse spend to identify opportunities for cost efficiency and social value benefits.
* Negotiate and resolve complex procurement and contractual issues, influencing stakeholders and suppliers effectively.
* Implement robust policies, processes, and systems to support contract management and supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with internal governance and procurement regulations.
* Use data modellng practices to analyse findings and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
* Research innovative purchasing methods to prevent waste and achieve best value in procurement.
People Management Responsibilities

* Coach and support your team and other departments to enhance productivity and improve operational efficiency.
