Apprentice Quantity Surveyor
This role is based in and around Nottingham.

What you will be doing:
You will be enrolled onto an apprenticeship course in this field, to suit your current educational level. We can offer apprenticeships from a level to a degree level apprenticeship fully funded by Galliford Try. The course level will be discussed with you at interview stage and will be confirmed at offer. At the end of the programme, you will gain a qualification in this field as well as learning the practical skills for the role throughout.
As an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with your line manager to assist in the commercial administration, reporting, and performance on a single large project or several smaller schemes.
* Participate in creating a safe working environment.
* Use the latest Orbit software tools to support accurate reporting of costs and value to the business unit.
* Assist in the interpretation and critical evaluation of expenditure reports produced by internal cost systems.
* Be involved in the procurement of Subcontract partners including preparation of bid enquiry documentation and critical evaluation of bids.
* Support the administration of subcontract works packages including, interim assessments of the amount due and change management.
* Assist in the management of change in accordance with the form of contract, including the production and submission of Compensation Event Quotations and the maintenance of detailed schedules of value.
* Provide information to the Commercial team to assist in the production of monthly payment applications to the Client.
* Liaise with operational and engineering staff to maintain site records.
* Collate and calculate information required to assist the Commercial team in the production and maintenance of a detailed ‘cost to complete’ including schedules of Subcontractor ‘liabilities’.
* Other administrative support as required.
