Job overview
Applications are welcome for a full-time Consultant Psychiatrist (10 PAs) on a permanent contract, working within the Adult Mental Health Care Unit.
This is an exciting time to come and join our Medical Workforce and have the opportunity to shape the provision of care to patients within the community transformation.
The main focus of this post will be the provision of mental health services to the county region of Nottingham, specifically the Broxtowe and Hucknall Locality Mental Health Team, which covers the relevant practices within the catchment area and includes the associated university populations.
An Advisory Appointment Committee (AAC) will be required for this post.
Main duties of the job
The main role will include:
* Assessment of new patients and follow-up patients referred to the service related to patients resident in the catchment area.
* GP liaison work.
* Management of patients within the recovery model and the Assertive Outreach pathway.
* Mental Health Act work (Section 12) when required.
* Day on-call duty rota (this will be based on a pro-rata and on average 3 to 4 times a month for emergency work only, will be factored in the sessions and will not increase workload).
* Cover for colleagues when on leave.
* Working within the multidisciplinary team supporting other members of the team.
* Providing leadership and consultancy to the team, including support of multidisciplinary team meetings and RAMM meetings.

Person specification
Qualifications
* MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
* MRCPsych OR MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
* Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
* Additional clinical qualifications.
* Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
* Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months.
* Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
* Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
* In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
