Our client is looking for a Mechanical Machine Engineer to join their well-established team in Rotherham.
Working Hours:
The shift pattern is days (earlies and lates), so this is 4 weeks of 6am-2pm, then one week of 10am-6pm. This is Mon-Fri, with an early finish on a Friday (1.30pm and 5.30pm respectively).
Salary:
£39,428 with a 6.25% shift premium paid on all hours worked.

Main areas of responsibility:
* To ensure that job changes are effectively and efficiently completed within the agreed timescales and both reactive and planned maintenance is undertaken.
* To ensure compliance as an individual of both company and legislative Health and Safety policy, procedure, standards, and regulations.
* Playing an active role in the continuous improvement management system, including:
o Establishing, setting and standard procedures.
o Contributing to continuous improvement teams.
o To ensure that machinery is in safe working order after any adjustments or repairs.
o To provide an effective and efficient Breakdown service, involving the location and repair of any hot end breakdowns, placing orders for machine spares required from the engineering stores or manufacturing any machine parts, brackets, fixture and fittings required.
o To provide an effective and efficient Preventative Maintenance service, via checks on machinery parts for any signs of wear or possible future breakdowns, checks on safety equipment for damage and correct operations, and lubrication of machines to manufacturer’s instructions.
o Workshop repair of variable equipment and mechanisms.
o Any other reasonable duties as required within skill set.
Knowledge / Skills:
* It is essential to be an Apprentice trained mechanical engineer.
* Desirable would be to have electrical skills (BTEC, City & Guilds).
* Experience in the glass industry, hot end IS machines.
* Working on a call basis (experience or commitment to do so).
