The Company
An award-winning firm of chartered accountants and tax advisers, which is rapidly expanding and as such is developing their Private Client Division. Main Duties and Responsibilities
As a Private Client Tax Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of private client tax returns that includes high-net-worth individuals, families, entrepreneurs, trusts, and estates. You will build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the primary contact for all tax-related inquiries. Regular client meetings will be led by you, initially alongside the tax partner, to review tax positions and provide strategic guidance.
General Responsibilities
Tax Planning and Advisory - you will deliver comprehensive services that encompass inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and income tax. Your responsibilities will include identifying tax-saving opportunities and developing strategies to optimise clients' tax positions. Additionally, you will advise clients on the implications of new tax legislation to ensure compliance with current regulations.
On the compliance front, you will review personal tax returns, including those for trusts and estates, along with associated documentation. It will be your responsibility to ensure that all tax filings are accurate and submitted punctually while liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients.
As a team leader, you will supervise and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance and support for their professional development. You will also review their work to ensure accuracy and compliance.
In terms of business development, you will identify opportunities to expand our client base and actively contribute to business development initiatives. This includes attending networking events and cultivating relationships with potential clients and referral sources.
Candidate Profile
* CTA qualified preferred
* 3 years experience in private client tax
* Record of managing own portfolio of high-net-worth clients
* In depth knowledge of UK tax legislation and compliance requirements
* Ability to manage multiple clients and a varied workload
* Experience with advisory work
