Job description
We are currently looking for a self-motivated and experienced Project Manager - Shared Prosperity Place Grant Schemes to join our friendly and supportive Regeneration Team.
This is a Fixed Term post until 31/03/2026 due to UK SPF funding.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the ‘Regeneration Capital’ strand of the Council’s new ‘Place Prosperity Fund’, funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
The successful candidate will oversee delivery of the £2m grant fund, which will deliver a range of interventions across Neath Port Talbot that create sustainable growth and enhance these areas as a place to live, visit and work. Examples of projects supported could include commercial renovation schemes, small-scale residential conversion projects, green infrastructure projects, feasibility studies or strategic acquisitions.
The main duties of the post;
To manage the delivery of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund Grant Scheme, including managing outputs and outcomes, budgets, submitting evidence for financial claims and preparing project reports as required.
1. To set up and monitor financial and legal compliance systems for the project in collaboration with NPTCBC Finance and Legal Departments.
2. To work with internal and external partners in the development of co-ordinated strategies and projects which deliver economic, environmental, social and cultural regeneration of the County Borough.
3. To contribute to the development and implementation of the Council’s policies and programmes for the delivery of regeneration and economic development.
4. To advise and assist project applicants on the eligibility of projects, alignment with grant criteria and the application process for grant schemes managed by the Regeneration and Economic Development section.
5. To work with public, private and voluntary sector stakeholders to identify and nurture project development opportunities to deliver the regeneration and economic development of the county.
6. To assess project applications in line with pre-set criteria, carry out financial due diligence and subsidy control assessments and present projects to a Funding Panel.
7. To prepare board reports and other internal and external reports for senior officers in connection with the delivery of projects and programmes and the procurement of works and services.
8. Lead on the promotion of regeneration activity relating to the Shared Prosperity Fund Grant Scheme within Neath Port Talbot by writing positive press releases and producing specific content for social media, websites and other promotional activities.
9. To assist in the development and delivery of the work programme of the Regeneration and Economic Development department.
10. To provide briefings and advice to third parties on internal/ external funding opportunities, projects, policies and funding criteria as required.
11. To undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post.
You will have experience in/of;
12. Project Management
13. Experience in the management and compliant delivery of third-party grant schemes.
14. Experience of working in partnership with stakeholders across the public, private and voluntary sectors is also essential.
Candidates should possess a degree in a relevant field.
