Site Manager (Civil bias)
Location: Glasgow / Lothian and Borders, Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway, Fife, Central belt etc.
Salary: Up to £57,750 per year (dependant on experience) with a strong benefits package - plus extensive Overtime available.
Working Hours: 37-hour basic week, Full Time / Permanent, Flexible / Hybrid options.
Additional Salary Enhancements: Excellent Overtime opportunities (subject to project and location) (Saturday x1.5 hrs, Sunday x2 hrs). Business miles paid at £0.45/m.

Role: To enact the role of Client Representative on site ensuring that the site-based construction activities across Scottish Power- Strategic Projects are efficiently managed in accordance with Scottish Power policies and procedures.
What You Will Be Doing
1. Ensure that the Principal Contractor (PC) is pro-active in discharging their duties under the CDM regulations, managing all safety aspects of the construction-based activities.
2. Review and comment on the deliverability of the PC Site Delivery Programmes and proactively monitor all activities, advising the EPC Project Manager of any risks, opportunities or delays.
3. Facilitate regular site safety walks, hold coordination meetings with all contractors, ensuring controlled access/egress to the site, and maintain a site log/diary.
4. Review the suitability of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
5. Ensure the PC holds Site Progress Meetings and issues minutes of these meetings.
6. Support Quality Assurance monitoring across the Strategic Projects.
7. Undertake the role of client representative for monitoring of site construction activities and be familiar with all contract documentation.
8. Enact the role of Employers ‘Supervisor’ under NEC contracts.
9. Issue site instructions following agreement from the EPC Project Manager and authenticate any records & sheets issued by the Principal Contractor.
10. Establish and maintain a drawing documentation system on site.
11. Coach and mentor other staff as required.
12. Drive agreed OFGEM regulatory targets for Sustainability and Biodiversity.
What You Will Bring
1. Basic understanding of various Contract forms such as NEC 3 or 4 and FIDIC.
2. Expert understanding of Safety and Environmental legislation and practices.
3. Previous experience of project site management in a contracting environment.
4. Significant experience in managing transmission construction projects.
5. Extensive experience of construction standards, especially regarding civil works.
6. Knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation & understanding of CDM 2015 regulations.
7. Experience in application and compliance with GS6, HSG47, and Temporary works.
8. Ability to understand civil and structural design drawings and inspection/testing regimes.
9. Proven knowledge and experience in specification, design, maintenance, construction, and commissioning of civil works within a Transmission substation environment.
10. Technical knowledge to understand civil, structural and wiring design drawings.
Minimum Requirement
* HNC / HND or equivalent experience in an engineering and or construction discipline.
* SMSTS, NEBOSH, IOSH or SSSTS.
* Formal training in Construction H&S, CDM, Risk Assessment & Method Statements, Environmental, Duty of Care and Waste Management, Contract Terms and Conditions.
* IT skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
