Job Description
This is a new substantive post with a primary focus on supporting the expansion of our HIV service. The HIV service has grown substantially in the past years and there are opportunities to modernize and improve. People with an eye for the wider needs of our patients, with a capacity to think flexibly and engage positively with other organisations to establish a joint service are particularly invited to apply.
There will be opportunities for the successful candidate to participate in running other existing services such as TB and Hepatitis or to develop their own areas of interest. We would welcome applications from anyone with or within 6 months of a CCT in Infectious Diseases, with a second CCT in Medical Microbiology, GIM, Virology, or a CCT in Sexual Health and GIM with an interest in HIV medicine.
The work programme and timetable is flexible and can be modified to reflect the successful candidate’s specialist interests, expertise and academic interests. There will be an expectation that they will:
1. Manage a cohort of patients within our HIV service.
2. Participate in MDTs and contribute to its further development.
3. Contribute to the training and supervision of our registrars and other trainees.
4. Participate in the out of hours joint infection rota including coverage of the ID ward.
It will also be expected that the successful candidate will work as part of the wider team providing supporting services to the local pathology networks ensuring clinical oversight of clinical infection samples. If the successful applicant has a relevant dual CCT, they may be asked to support the microbiology service where needed across the Humber Health Partnership in hours as part of their job plan and according to their interest.
