COMMIS CHEF *must be able to work weekends*
We are seeking a creative member to join our kitchen team at Fins, a vibrant beach cafe in Sandown. After winning the 2023 Red Funnel Gold Cafe of the Year award, we have seen our business grow, which has opened up an exciting head chef job opportunity.
Experience in the catering industry in a high-volume environment and being up to date with industry trends are essential.
This role will suit an individual who can display the following attributes:
* Cooking and preparing high-quality dishes
* Plating up food
* Ensuring food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created
* Assisting with determining food inventory needs, stocking, and ordering
* Ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines
* Presenting food artistically
* Assisting with daily specials
* Keeping up in fast-paced environments
* Attention to detail and great communication skills, in both giving and receiving instruction during service
* Culinary training and experience in a similar venue
* Ability to follow prep lists and ordering sheets
* A true passion for food and developing your skills alongside a team of legends
* Working well alongside other kitchen members
What your week will look like:
* Prepping food for fast menu creation on shift
* Working 8-4pm, 4 days per week
* Performing cleaning duties
* Cleaning down the kitchen
* Setting up your work station
* Working with management on our tasting experience
