Job Description:
Context of the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and conscientious individual to join our team overseeing the day-to-day operations of our EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Skills And Training Underpinning a Renaissance in Nuclear (SATURN).
This is an energetic and varied role as part of a growing centre, supporting the next generation of researchers looking to become future leaders with expertise in decommissioning, advancing nuclear technologies, and shaping nuclear policy.
The post-holder will have day-to-day responsibility for the coordination of the EPSRC-funded Centre and will work closely with the CDT Director and Co-Directors, industrial CDT partners, CDT Management, and Doctoral Academy team to ensure delivery of an exceptional student experience and to support the strategic and long-term objectives of the CDT. This will involve arranging events and cohort-based activities for researchers based at Manchester and at our partner Universities of Lancaster, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, and Strathclyde, as well as helping to market the CDT as it looks to recruit further researchers, adding to the 50+ researchers who are already part of the centre.
The post-holder will also work closely with the PGR Operations Officer (Funded & External Programmes – CDTs) with the provision of information for statutory UKRI reporting, requests for audits and receive updates on matters arising from university and faculty committees and groups.
We are looking to recruit someone who can deliver excellent service provision and support colleagues with continuous improvement, placing the student experience at the heart of what we do within a single CDT team working flexibly across organisational boundaries.
