Job Title: Sales Estimator
Shift: Monday – Thursday 8.00am – 5.00pm, Friday 8.00am – 2.30pm
Rate: £35k-£40k per annum
This position is suited for a Sales Estimator, Engineering Sub-contract Buyer / Expeditor, or an experienced CNC machinist seeking a new challenge in an office environment where they can apply their excellent IT and communication skills in a customer-focused role.
The Role
1. Dealing with and processing sales orders, enquiries, queries, and quotes.
2. Receiving sales orders and liaising with customers regarding product specifications, order details, delivery, and special arrangements.
3. Regular liaison with customers to build great customer relationships.
4. Receive, review, and reply to Customer RFQs and their technical queries.
5. Create timely and accurate estimates and quotations from customer enquiries and technical drawings.
6. Liaising with customers over the phone and via email regarding technical and non-technical questions, providing a client-centric service.
7. Producing quotations to deadlines, estimating all machining, materials, and inspection times for in-house elements, and incorporating externally sourced elements such as sub-contract when applicable, while developing new and existing supplier relationships.
8. Understand and identify machining methods of manufacture and select accurate cycle times (CNC Turning & Boring experience is a distinct advantage).
9. Liaise with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
Requirements
1. Extensive experience within precision engineering with knowledge of machine capabilities and machining practices working with various metals.
2. The ability to read and translate technical drawings is essential.
3. Accuracy and attention to detail are key to success.
4. Computer literacy is essential.
5. Excellent interpersonal, communicative, listening, and negotiation skills.
6. A pride in your work and a keen interest in the company’s resulting performance.
7. Loyalty, commitment, and drive to enhance the performance of the business.
8. Ability to use own initiative as well as work collaboratively as part of a team.
9. Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise.
