We have a current opportunity for a CNC Team Leader on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Aberdeenshire. For further information about this position please apply.
Full-time staff; site based with a compressed working week.
Responsibilities:
1. Liaise with MFR Scheduler and prioritise all manufacturing work accordingly.
2. Ensure each machine is manned accordingly based on requirements flowed down by MFR Scheduler.
3. Liaise with TL’s from NDT, Flow Room, Dimensional Inspection and QA to ensure components return to the department as per agreed timelines.
4. Lead weekly production meeting and provide information on cover available for the upcoming week.
5. Investigate defective and/or scrap components, raise INC’s where applicable, attend RCA meeting and ensure any actions to prevent re-occurrence are carried out in a timely manner.
6. Provide Technical support to all workshop personnel, and where required make key decisions.
7. Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with company policies, procedures and work Instructions.
8. Embrace continuous improvement exercises and endeavour to improve efficiency, profitability, quality and delivery performance at all times.
9. Responsible for ensuring that Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality and general housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
10. Liaise with Process Improvement Lead to discuss programming requirements, tooling usage, personnel efficiencies, internal MFR costs and put actions in place where necessary.
11. Responsible for conducting all workshop appraisals within the allocated time frame.
12. Deal with the day-to-day personnel issues, i.e. Timekeeping, Work Ethic, Grievances, Disciplinary issues etc.
13. Ensuring all Machine Shop Job Cards are completed correctly.
14. Communicate with Production Management on a regular basis with regards to any technical, personnel or resource issues.
15. Monitor, check & approve all machine and operator D365 scanning hours and ensure they match Mytime bookings.
Specific Requirements:
1. Machining Apprenticeship (or equivalent)
2. Machining SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
3. HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
4. Experience in running a machine shop / CNC machine shop
5. Understanding / experience of machining processes & tooling
6. Ability to schedule work across multiple machines/departments
7. Positive attitude towards HSE&Q initiatives
8. Good Communication & Leadership skills
9. Good Problem solving and Analytical behaviour
10. Good Technical awareness
11. Good Commercial awareness
12. Optimum use of dedicated and shared resources
13. Demonstrate a drive towards continuous improvement throughout the business
14. Previous supervisory experience in a Machine shop environment
