Salary: £25,148 per annum
Contract: Permanent, full time 35 hours per week and part of an on-call rota

Role Overview

We’re seeking a Support Officer to join our friendly and hard-working team at A2Dominion. 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. You will support young people in building independence and managing risks while ensuring a safe and well-maintained living environment.
Responsibilities include assessing new tenants, providing tenancy support, conducting health and safety checks, and working with partner agencies. This role requires self-motivation, as you will often work independently, with occasional on-call duties.
Key responsibilities:
Promote independence, freedom, and choice as a keyworker to residents, working with young people in supporting them to achieve their goals as they work towards independent living.
Ensuring residents are safe and able to manage risks as necessary, which often you’ll need to do with the help of partner agencies.
Responsible for health and safety checks within the building, as well as reporting and monitoring maintenance issues.
We operate an on-call out-of-hours; you would cover one week out of every four, for which additional payment is made.
Assess all new tenants and allocate beds according to procedures.
Provide information and advice to service users in order to assist them in establishing and maintaining their tenancy,
Ensure room checks and housekeeping void procedures are followed and that voids are kept to a minimum.
Ensure that tenancy/license is upheld.
Carry out risk assessments as necessary, liaising with other agencies where appropriate.
Promote user participation by providing information and advice choices to enable residents to participate more fully in decisions relating to them.
Carry out designated H&S checks and facilities management of the building and liaise with internal departments.
This role will require working alone more often than not so discipline and self-motivation is key.

You won’t necessarily have experience in this sector, as we recognise that transferable skills and knowledge are equally valuable. We are specifically looking for candidates with the right skills and attitudes who will demonstrate and promote our values of caring by nature, working better together, and thinking for tomorrow.
For this role, we’re looking for someone who may have:
Experience of working in a customer-facing role, motivating complex and diverse client groups to sustain housing, health and/or work outcomes.
Previous experience of supporting young people is essential.
An awareness of Universal Credit, Housing Benefits, and voluntary and statutory support agencies.
The skills to identify and manage risk.
An awareness of safeguarding measures and processes.
Excellent communication skills.
Intermediate level of IT skills (MS Office) and confident in learning new systems or software.
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Math & English (Grade C or 4 or above).
Right to work in the UK, unfortunately, we cannot sponsor visa applications.
Full driving licence and access to a car.
