This will include labour ward and emergency cover, gynaecology clinics, antenatal clinics, theatre sessions, colposcopy and endometrial assessment clinics and attendance at other special interest clinics. You will be responsible for the day to day management of patients under your care and ensure that patients are adequately prepared for theatre and discharge. You will be responsible for ensuring that each patient goes home with a hand-written or electronic discharge summary. The middle-grade doctors will be expected to take part in the teaching of the women's health junior doctors and medical students. This will be both on the formal and informal basis. Similarly teaching of nurses and midwives will be expected. You must be aware of and put into practice The Health and Safety procedures relevant for each ward or department in which you are required to work.
