About the Role
Aztec West, Bristol (hybrid working).
Are you ready to play a key role in one of the UK’s most exciting energy projects? Join us as our Diesel Generator & Backup Systems Expert, where you’ll be at the forefront of nuclear power development.
The Opportunity
EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is a subsidiary of Edvance, which is a joint venture between EDF and Framatome, established in 2018 in charge of the design and the realisation of nuclear islands for new projects in France and worldwide.
EPR-E is leading the way in nuclear engineering, delivering the nuclear island design for Hinkley Point C (HPC) and preparing for the replication and engineering activities at Sizewell C (SZC). At HPC, we’re constructing two state-of-the-art nuclear reactors that will provide clean electricity to six million homes. Meanwhile, our team is already laying the groundwork for SZC, ensuring a seamless replication of this revolutionary energy project.
As an EXPERT Technical Lead, you will work on both Emergency and Ultimate Diesel contracts, providing high-level technical support to ensure the design, manufacturing, and qualification processes meet the highest standards. You’ll collaborate with EDF teams in the UK and France, as well as clients and suppliers, to guarantee the successful integration of Diesel Generator systems within nuclear power infrastructure.
Pay, benefits and culture
Alongside a competitive starting salary (negotiable depending on experience), bonus and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.
We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.
At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.
Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.
We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.
We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation.
