This is an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified and passionate Music Teacher to join a thriving and successful Music Department within an exceptional school.
You will ideally be a subject specialist in Music who is able to contribute to the planning and delivery of lessons up to GCSE and A Level, and who could help with the future development of the department and to deliver part of the co-curricular programme.
You will be an enthusiastic, positive and hard-working musician, who is able to teach specialist Music from KS3 to KS5. You will be a well-qualified graduate, with a proven track record of academic success and prior experience of working within a successful team.
If you can demonstrate equal passion for Music and working with young students and can contribute to our wide ranging co-curricular programme, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Music at Blackheath High School
Music is a popular and successful subject at Blackheath High School. We firmly believe all our lessons should be inclusive and the breadth of the curriculum allows students to experience a variety of genres. There is a wide range of co-curricular clubs from Sinfonia to Jazz Band, along with chances to show off musical achievements throughout the school year. Highlights include the Christmas Carol Concert at the Old Royal Naval College Chapel, and the annual Senior School musical production. This allows students to explore high level music-making in a variety of styles.
Teaching in our Music Department takes place within a purpose-built suite on a dedicated floor of the Vanbrugh Park building. The suite houses a newly developed music classroom, 4 individual music teaching rooms, a percussion room and a Mac Suite.
