Job Description
In this key role, you will be responsible for:
1. analysing project change proposals to produce a clearly defined problem or opportunity statement, gathering input from all stakeholders.
2. stakeholder identification and analysis activities, ensuring internal and external stakeholder views are gathered and represented.
3. the analysis and evaluation of research outputs.
4. supporting the Product Owner in backlog production and refinement and be responsible for ensuring the quality, development, and readiness of user stories.
5. eliciting and elaborating requirements to the appropriate level, facilitating workshops and ceremonies.
6. ensuring requirements are fit for purpose, agreed, documented, and align with the definition of done.
7. identifying opportunities to add value by investigating as is and to be business functions / processes, and identifying potential changes to scope and escalating where appropriate.
8. communicating across teams and stakeholders to share analysis expertise, emerging practice, including advice on process design.
9. contributing to the definition of clear acceptance criteria & to production of impact assessments.
10. playing back significant product developments to wider stakeholder groups.
Person specification
We're looking for a skilled Business Analyst with experience of using various tools and techniques to elicit and document user needs and requirements to support analysis. You will have experience of contributing to delivery in an iterative or agile environment, identifying efficiencies and recommending process improvements. Your ability to analyse system capabilities and limitations will enable you to develop clear requirements for improvements or software changes. Excellent assimilation, analysis, problem solving and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to facilitate discussions and negotiate effectively, and constructively challenge evidence and proposals.
HMLR believes that a blended approach to where you work that enables some time working from home, as well as in the office may give you an improved experience and has clear business benefits. We expect everyone to spend at least 60% of their working time in the office. Beyond this expectation, there is no one size fits all approach (and we can spend up to 100% working in the office if we prefer).
Where an individual taking up the responsibility will be based in Swansea Office, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable.

Selection process details
