Patent Litigation Senior Associate (7+ yrs PQE) - London

Brief
We are currently looking to recruit a talented 7+ yrs PQE Intellectual Property lawyer to join Pinsent Masons' Intellectual Property team to be based in our London office. The candidate will be a highly technical lawyer with a strong enthusiasm for gaining greater experience of the practical and technical elements of patent litigation, including oppositions before the European Patent Office. A first degree in a scientific discipline or technical discipline (for example, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering) would be advantageous but is not essential. The candidate will have real ambition and will be able to work effectively in a team. The candidate can expect to have significant independent interaction with clients and contribute to the team's business development.
The Candidate Required
The successful candidate will:
* have been working in a well regarded firm having a strong life sciences and/or high-tech practice, have significant experience of handling patent applications in the biotechnological and pharmaceutical fields, and involving complex technologies, but must also be willing to work on matters in the broader chemical and/or high-tech field and have a strong client focused approach. Experience of opinion, and / or contentious work is required;
* be a team player, able to forge strong working relationships with colleagues in an agile environment;
* be technically strong and able to exercise good commercial judgment;
* have the strong interpersonal skills necessary to develop strong relationships with clients and market contacts and across the wider firm.
The focus of the role is business critical patent litigation and related patent advisory work.
