The Role: As a Food Technology Teacher, you will: Deliver engaging and hands-on lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering a range of culinary techniques, nutrition principles, and food safety practices. Create a fun and inspiring learning environment where students can develop their practical cooking skills, experiment with different ingredients and flavors, and understand the importance of healthy eating. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources, including demonstrations, practical cooking sessions, food science experiments, and recipe development, to bring food technology to life. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and differentiated support to ensure every student reaches their full potential. Contribute to the department's success by collaborating with colleagues to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and organize enriching extracurricular activities, such as cooking clubs or visits to local food producers. Qualifications and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Home Economics, or a related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification. A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Food Technology curriculum. Experience teaching Food Technology in a secondary school setting.
