The role
As a Proposal Management Lead, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the Proposal Management Team, working closely with Directors on bids for future projects.
Day-to-day, you’ll focus on the application of the business winning proposal process through resource planning, quality management and training and development of team members for the proposal management function.
1. Responsible to produce compliant, concise, and compelling proposal documentation for the Sector bidding activity.
2. Leading, developing, and resourcing the proposal function, including all Proposal Managers, Proposal Writers and Graphic Designers to a consistent high standard.
3. Supporting all aspects of Future Business in the development of compelling proposals that best articulate Babcock’s value propositions and points of differentiation.
4. Supporting and guiding Proposal Managers in the effective day-to-day management of colleagues, proposals and writing activities, managing local issues to mitigate points of functional escalation.
5. Supporting the development and coaching of continuous improvement in proposal management and writing, including ownership of the development and implementation of standardised methods and tools that provides clear and consistent guidance.
This role is full time, 40 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2-3 days in the onsite (this can be based at either our Bristol, London or Portsmouth sites) and 2-3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Proposal Management Lead
6. Experience of line managing a department/team
7. Strong experience of effective proposal management and proposal writing on large, complex and/or strategic bids
8. Strong experience of Shipley proposal practices
9. Strong ability to identify and articulate customer value
10. Workshop facilitation skills
