The team is responsible for providing a high-quality service to internal stakeholders and external customers interacting with the evidential property service. In this post, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of a busy evidential property store in a supervisory capacity, ensuring an efficient and effective storage, review, and disposal service for all items of seized property in accordance with force policies and procedures. This includes the safe and secure handling, storage, repatriation, and disposal of these items, as well as maintaining accurate recording of property movements within the force Evidential Property Management System (ePMS). Key Responsibilities Safely, securely, and efficiently handle all items of property such as general items, bulk items, hazardous substances, dry and wet forensics, firearms, ammunition, drugs, cash, and valuables which have come into police possession. Maintain integrity, security, and continuity of movements for all exhibits received into the store, ensuring that the ePMS Property Management System is accurately updated with storage locations, movements, and interactions. Dynamically risk assess the transfer of all incoming items of seized property into the main store, making provisions for handling large, heavy items using the appropriate equipment provided, complying with H&S procedures. Ensure the safe handling and storage of high-risk items, i.e., firearms and ammunition, knives, drugs, and hazardous substances. Manage and complete the physical disposal of property in accordance with the Greater Manchester Police Property Policy including Return to Owner, specialist destruction, hazardous waste disposal, and general waste processes. Act as a point of reference for officers and staff needing assistance with the ePMS and the evidential property process. Skills and Experience Essential Experience in supervising or assisting in the supervision of staff within a clerical/administration/store’s environment or similar. Assisted in the training of staff, including mentoring and role-specific core training. Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy. Experience with keyboard and computer applications. Experience dealing with internal and external stakeholders. Desirable Experience as a supervisor in a large-scale organisation in a customer-focused area of business. Fit to perform duties which include lifting and carrying of property. B/TEC qualification or equivalent desirable. The working hours are 36.25 per week, Monday to Friday (Daytime). Although the service delivery hours are normally between 0800 and 1600, the role has a flexitime workstyle. Closing Date 23 Dec 2024
