This role sits within the Marketing and Business Development team, whose focus is on helping our expert Partners and other lawyers to win business and deliver an excellent client service. We are ambitious to demonstrate the firm's premium quality and imaginative approach, and so are investing in our marketing activities. That has brought with it new opportunities for brilliant marketing talent.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE
Simply, this role is about working closely with our wider Marketing and Business Development colleagues to deliver unignorable, unforgettable, persuasive – and ultimately effective - marketing propositions, projects and campaigns. Specifically, you will be responsible for working alongside Marketing, Industry and Practice Business Development professionals to produce and publish a wide range of marketing content and campaigns. The role will be very hands-on – you will contribute actively to content delivery and making the most of different channels. You will also help analyse what is working and what isn't, in order to help improve marketing effectiveness.
You will work alongside our Head of Marketing, Business Development professionals, the firm's Partners, an internal team of PR, Web, Events and Design specialists, and external agencies as required. Together, you will deliver the most admired, memorable and effective marketing communications and campaigns not just in the legal sector, but in all of B2B marketing. We consequently believe the role is the best, most surprising role in business marketing, with potential limited only by your drive and determination.
DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
• Support the delivery of targeted marketing campaigns and content projects across a diverse range of sectors and legal specialisms.
• Help manage the development of a wide range of marketing content, including, web pages, event invitations, social media posts, advertising and more.
• You will help conduct client, market and competitor research to help Marketing Managers develop their plans.
• You will help publish that content across a range of different channels, including email, direct mail, web, social, SEO, advertising, events, print, sponsorship, PR and any other appropriate channel.
• You will help track marketing communications activities against agreed marketing metrics, and help Marketing Managers to both report on progress and identify issues that might need attention.
• Support the project management of virtual teams working alongside other marketing specialists (e.g. web, design, social media, PR and event experts) and agencies to deliver our marketing communications programmes.
• Occasionally provide support at major in-person marketing events.
• Keep abreast of new developments in the world of marketing. Bring your own creative ideas to the table to make our communications stand out from the crowd, but also work collaboratively with colleagues and specialist agencies to ensure our communications and campaign plans have the best chance of getting noticed and converting
• Contribute additional ideas and energy to will help us find new ways to generate more new leads and help us differentiate our brand in the market.
YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
• We are looking for a motivated self–starter with: a can-do attitude; the ability to use initiative; and the ability to find solutions.
• You must be highly organised, handle multiple concurrent projects and ensure completion against tight deadlines. We operate in highly competitive markets, and so you must be able to operate at a high quality in demanding situations.
• You must have at least 3 years of experience working in B2B marketing. A Marketing or business degree (or equivalent) would be helpful, but is not essential.
• You must have a strong client-centric ethos, and attention to detail is essential to this role.
• Solid writing skills are important, and any experience of writing sales messages and marketing materials would be highly desirable.
• Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office packages, web content management systems, email marketing software and social media channels (LinkedIn as a minimum).
• Your work to date must include a strong background in lead generation and/or account-based marketing. Your portfolio of work to date would include a mixture of tactical activity including at least 4 of the following: in-person or online events; market research; social media programmes; content marketing; account-based marketing (ABM); direct mail; thought leadership; PR; PPC; SEO; advertising; brand building; email marketing; video marketing; influencer activity; or sponsorships.
• Strong interpersonal skills and able to engage with people at all levels.
• You must feel comfortable working with virtual teams and with agencies.
• You must be an effective communicator and a team player.
