The Network Security Engineer plays a vital role in protecting the network and infrastructure at my client's Newcastle plant. Reporting to the IT Director, you will collaborate closely with the IT Security Lead. This is a fully on-site position.\n\nClient Details\n\nOur client is a global major player in the pharmaceutical sector with a strong presence in the UK and Europe.\n\nDescription\n\nSecure and maintain the IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud environments.\nImplement, monitor, and manage security solutions such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.\nConduct vulnerability assessments on the infrastructure\nEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001) and industry best practices.\nInvestigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.\nProvide technical support and guidance on security-related matters to IT and business teams.\nKeep up to date with emerging security threats and recommend proactive measures.\nAssist in disaster recovery and business continuity planning.Profile\n\nEssential\n\nProven experience in IT infrastructure security\nStrong knowledge of network security principles, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systemsDesirable\n\nExperience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, Operational Technologies\nKnowledge with security frameworks and compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR)\nExperience with SIEM solutions, endpoint security, and identity & access management\nAbility to conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
