Job summary We are inviting applications from experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic HCPC registered candidates to join our friendly and hardworking team in Haematology/Blood Transfusion.It is essential that the candidate is a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with Haematology and Blood Transfusion laboratory experience. Ideally, candidates should be able to demonstrate experience of working in modern fully automated Haematology and Blood Transfusion laboratories. Main duties of the job The Queens Hospital Burton Haematology and Blood Transfusion laboratories are well equipped and currently include Sysmex FBC analysers, Starrsed ESR, Werfen coagulation and Ortho Vision analysers in Blood Bank.The successful candidate will be expected: To undertake specialist clinical technical work for any given area within the Haematology and Blood Transfusion sections of the laboratory service. To assist senior staff within the departments maintain and develop the service in line with departmental objectives. To assist with the training, instruction and supervision of trainee BMSs and MLAs within the department. To help maintain our full UKAS accreditation (ISO 15189) the successful candidate will be involved in service development including verification of equipment, auditing, and reviewing of documents.
