POSITION SUMMARY
The Reception Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional first impression and ensuring smooth front-of-house operations. This position requires a confident and welcoming personality, outstanding organisational skills, and a passion for delivering unparalleled hospitality.
The Reception Manager will lead the reception team, oversee reservations, develop guest relationships, and maintain the highest standards of service and presentation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Set an exceptional standard of welcome, ensuring all guests feel valued and have confidence in their restaurant experience.
Develop personal relationships with regular and VIP guests, ensuring they are recognised and provided with a bespoke service.
Lead, train, and inspire the reception team to maintain professionalism, accuracy, and warmth in all guest interactions.
Manage the reservations system, ensuring efficient table allocation and seamless service flow.
Oversee guest profiles and ensure information is up to date, sharing key details with the Front of House (FOH) team.
Ensure smooth and professional communication between reception, FOH, and the kitchen team.
Hold regular training and performance reviews to develop the team and maintain exceptional service levels.
Maintain a detailed Reception Handbook, covering key policies, VIP lists, and emergency contacts.
Monitor and respond to guest feedback and online reviews, implementing improvements as needed.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation at reception and throughout guest-facing areas.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
KEY REQUIREMENTS

Expert Organiser: Exceptional administrative and multitasking skills, with experience managing a reservations system (e.g., SevenRooms).
Calm Under Pressure: The ability to handle high-pressure situations with elegance and professionalism.
Attention to Detail: A keen eye for presentation, guest recognition, and delivering a seamless service.
Exceptional Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written English with the ability to engage with guests and work closely with senior management.
Experience in a similar role is essential.
