Job Description
We are supporting a specialist school in Dawlish dedicated to supporting students aged 3-19 with communication and interaction difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions, and additional learning needs. The school prides itself on fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment, where students thrive both academically and personally.
The school is seeking a passionate and skilled teaching assistant to enhance the quality of education at the school and support of students. This role involves providing vital support to students in the classroom, helping them overcome barriers to learning, and working closely with teachers to deliver a tailored educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons tailored to individual needs.
* Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with additional learning needs.
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
* Support students' social, emotional, and educational development.
* Assist in managing classroom resources and maintaining a safe learning space.
Qualifications:
* Relevant experience working with children or young people, preferably with additional needs.
* A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
* Patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive education.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* An enhanced DBS check on the update service or happy to obtain one.
